Dr. Sunny Steinmeyer has been a therapist in a variety of settings for almost 30 years. Her responsibilities have included working with psychiatric inpatients as well as seeing clients in her office. She has led over 5,000 groups of various sorts, and for the last several years she has been associated with the Eating Disorders program at South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach CA. In her private practice she sees adolescents and adults; couples and families as well as individuals.
Her academic history includes a BA from Colorado College, a master’s degree from Edinboro State University in PA, and a Ph.D. from Alliant University here in CA. While she has spent a great deal of time pursuing the study of psychology in school, her true education has come from her clients as well as her own personal experience: For many years, she was one of two mothers who raised eight children in a “blended family” situation—truly a laboratory where much was learned about patience, tolerance—and love. |
